Ebeling says he was better at track and field until his senior year. However, from that point
on, it was basketball that would dominate his life and make him a world traveler. He finished
his high school career with 1,065 points and was selected for the East/West All-Star Game. He
went on to play at Florida Southern College where he led the Moccasins to four Sunshine State
Conference titles, three regional crowns, and the 1981 Division II National Championship. He set
school records for points and rebounds. A three-time All-American selection, Ebeling’s number
was retired at Florida Southern.
He was drafted in the fifth round by Detroit in 1982 but decided to go to Europe where
he played professionally for 20 years. He is now a certified agent with the NBA Players
Association and recognized with the Certificate of Sport Manager by the Italian Basketball
Players Association. In 2006 he was named to the NCAA Division II 50th Anniversary All-Elite
Eight Team and was inducted into the Sunshine State Conference and FSC Halls of Fame.
