JOHANNA KONESKI TANZONE

CLASS OF '84

YEAR OF INDUCTION: 2007

What people remember about Johanna Koneski is her outstanding ability to run and the way she used humor in her everyday life. It’s more than 20 years since she was the top female runner in Mercer County but the way she dominated the area will never be forgotten. She earned 12 varsity letters and captured all county and other laurels as she finished with records in the 1-mile, 2-mile and cross-country course distances. She was team captain and MVP.

At Mercer County Community College she was the only female runner on the cross-country team and qualified for a major competition in Idaho but had to miss the race. One of her goals in life is to run a marathon which she is determined to accomplish.
