George O'Gorman has been providing media coverage for sports in the Greater Trenton Area for more than 50 years. His assignments have included the N.Y. Giants football team, the Trenton Thunder baseball team, the N.Y. Cosmos men's soccer team in its heyday, and N.J. Wildcats women's soccer.

O'Gorman has also covered countless Steinert games, first for the Trenton Times, and, since 1976, for The Trentonian. His main focus on Spartan athletics has been football, girls' soccer, girls' basketball, track and field, and baseball. He has chronicled the Spartan teams through the decades including those coached by Jerry Bleistein, Roger Bigos, Pete Brescia, Rich Giallella, Frank Lugossy, Doug Martin, Bob Pivovarnick, Jake Tarr, Paul Tessein and Jim Wilno.

A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Cathedral High in Trenton. He then attended Trenton Junior and Rider colleges. Before matriculating at Cathedral, he went to Trenton Catholic Boys High where he played football. After TC closed, he went to Cathedral where he played soccer. He coached soccer at St. Anthony, including a JV team that tied Steinert for a county championship with a 15-0-1 record.

Founder of the Mercer County Soccer Hall of Fame, O'Gorman is president of the N.J. Sports Writers Association.
