DARRYL A. REAVES

CLASS OF '80

YEAR OF INDUCTION: 2013

Darryl Reaves was a two-sport standout who went on to play both football and participate in track and field in college. He was a state champ in the hurdles and a Top 5 finisher in the Junior National meet.

The All-America selection was recruited by many – including Rutgers, Villanova, Indiana, St. John’s and Maryland – and Reaves moved on to the University of Virginia, where he continued his dual role in football and track.

A father of two sports-minded boys, Reaves juggles being a student in The Culinary School at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and other obligations including being the spiritual leader for the Newark Bears of the Can-Am League.

Reaves was also one of the top players on the basketball team – who was an all-star in football (All-Area) and track and field (All-America). On the way to rewriting the school's record books, he was named Track & Field Athlete of the Year by both of Trenton's daily newspapers during his historic senior season.
