Considered the first true female star athlete at Steinert, Jean played varsity field hockey for two seasons and varsity basketball and softball for three years each. A four-year varsity performer, Ruppert is the all-time leading field hockey scorer in Pfeiffer history. She played for district championship teams her first three years, and regional championship teams as a sophomore and senior. In Jean’s senior year, Pfeiffer won the NCAA Division II championship, the first national title for the university. Ruppert also played four years of softball, leading Pfeiffer to three AIAW state championships. Jean was a two-time first-team AIAW selection, and also a two-time All-State and All-District pick.
